How do I purchase tickets?
There are four easy ways to order tickets: online, by phone, in person, and by mail.
What are the hours of operation for the ticket office?
The ticket office window is open Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday. The ticket office is open additional hours on event days and closes 15 minutes after the final curtain time. On Sunday, hours vary with event schedule. Please refer to our monthly schedule.
What are the hours of operation for phone orders?
Phone operators are available Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and additional hours on evenings and weekends leading up to performances. To order tickets, call 608.258.4141 .
Do you charge any additional ticket fees?
Yes, there is a per-ticket fee and a per-order fee on all tickets purchased online and over the phone. This charge varies by performance and is listed individually in the shopping cart, before your credit card is charged. There are no additional fees on tickets purchased in person at the ticket office.
Will you hold tickets for me until I come and pay for them in person?
Unfortunately, we are not able to hold tickets without payment.
Tickets for the show and/or price range I want are sold out. Can I get on a wait list?
Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate wait lists at this time.
I found tickets for this show on another website. Why can’t I buy those seats from you? Should I buy them directly from that site?
Any site other than overturecenter.org which is selling tickets for events at Overture Center is a ticket reseller. If you purchase a ticket from a reseller, you’ll pay significantly more than face value and may not even receive a valid ticket. We work hard to curb ticket reselling, and you can help by buying directly from Overture Center. Will I receive a discount if I bring a group?
In most cases, we are able to offer discounts for groups. Please call our group sales office at 608.258.4159 to learn about great seats and personalized service for your group.
How do I order subscription tickets?
There are multiple ways to order subscription tickets. Visit us online for the fastest, easiest way to order. You may also mail or bring your completed order to the ticket office, scan and email your order to email@example.com, or fax your order to 608.258.4966.
How do I use a gift certificate to purchase tickets?
Gift certificates can be used to purchase tickets in person, over the phone, or via a mail or fax order.
Can I use a gift certificate for a season subscription?
Yes, as long as it is for an Overture Center season subscription. At this time, we cannot accept gift certificates for seasonal subscriptions of resident company performances such as the Madison Symphony Orchestra and Madison Opera. You may use gift certificates to purchase individual shows presented by them.
What types of payment do you take?
For phone or online orders, we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. For ticket window and mail orders, we accept cash and personal checks in addition to credit cards. We ask that you do not send cash in the mail, for security reasons.
I have vouchers or a gift certificate. Can I redeem them over the phone?
We are able to redeem gift certificates over the phone, but not vouchers. You can mail vouchers to us or bring them directly to the ticket office to redeem them.
Can I exchange tickets if my plans change?
In many cases, you may exchange your ticket for a different date or performance. A $2-per-ticket exchange fee and some restrictions apply. Call the ticket office at 608.258.4143 for more information.
If I decide I no longer want to attend a show, can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, we are not able to issue refunds unless a performance is cancelled or rescheduled.
Do you have ADA-accessible seating in your venues?
Yes, every venue in Overture Center is accessible for any number of requirements. Please contact us at 608.258.4452 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Where is the best place to drop someone off?
For a performance in Overture Hall, we recommend the drop-off area on Fairchild Street directly in front of the Overture Hall Lobby. For performances in other venues, we recommend dropping guests off near the main entrance on State Street or the rear entrance on Henry Street.
Does the ticket office handle performances in the OnStage Performing Arts Series for Students?
For OnStage performances, please contact the OnStage Coordinator at 608.258.4455 or email email@example.com.
